In professional tennis, there are four grand slam tournaments per year: the Australian Open, the French Open, Wimbledon, and the U.S. Open.ย

These four tournaments are the largest and most prestigious tournaments in the sport, so it is generally a career goal for professional players to win one of them at least once.

Truly great players aim for something even more impressive: the career slam. Thatโ€™s the term for a player who has won all four tournaments at least once throughout their career.ย

In the history of tennis, only 19 players across the menโ€™s and womenโ€™s tours have nabbed a career slam.ย ย

Hereโ€™s an updated list of the most successful grand slam tennis players of all time.

Which Player Has Won the Most Grand Slam Tennis Titles?

Margaret Court and Novak Djokovic have each won 24 grand slam titles, which is more than anyone else in the history of the sport.

For Court, who played in the 1960s and 1970s, her most successful event was on her home turf at the Australian Open. She won 11 of her 24 tournaments in Melbourne.

Djokovic has also been a highly decorated player at the Australian Open, winning more titles in Melbourne (10) than any other player in the history of menโ€™s tennis.ย

A whopping 17 of Djokovicโ€™s 24 grand slam titles have come on the fast tracks at the Australian Open or Wimbledon.ย
