NBA All-Star Game MVP Prediction: Curry on Top, but Take Tatum
Based on the latest NBA odds, Stephen Curry is the betting favorite (+500) to win the NBA All-Star Game MVP award in his home arena on Sunday. It would mark his second award after winning it in 2022.
With Team Shaq favored to win this year’s four-team event, it makes sense that Curry and LeBron James (three All-Star Game MVPs) are the top contenders for this award. Curry has an implied probability of 16.67%, while James’ +900 basketball odds give him a 10% chance.
Damian Lillard, who is also on Team Shaq, is +1100 to win the award after claiming the honor last year.
I like the idea of sticking with someone on this eight-player squad, and Jayson Tatum’s price stands out at +1800. Tatum is arguably the best player on his team, and his age (26) suggests he’s best equipped to bring it for multiple games.
This will be Tatum’s sixth All-Star Game in his career. He won MVP in 2023 after scoring 55 points, following that up with 20 points in 22 minutes last year. Tatum has averaged 22 points per game in this event in his career.
I would expect this line to move before Sunday’s tipoff at 8 p.m. ET on TNT.
