Last year, Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry led the league with 198 points in the clutch to win this award over DeMar DeRozan, who finished with 182 points. No other player scored more than 139 points in the clutch a season ago.
In 2022-23, De’Aaron Fox was the first Clutch Player of the Year. He finished with 194 points in the clutch, besting DeRozan with 159 points.

NBA Clutch Player of the Year Odds: Jokić is Betting Favorite
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić has overtaken Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry as the betting favorite to win the NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year award. Jokić’s odds now sit at -145, a significant jump from the +3500 he held in the offseason, when I recommended him as a long-shot bet.
Backing Jokić for Clutch Player of the Year remains my preferred way to bet on the world’s best player. Ironically, his MVP candidacy has worked against him in this category, as seen in his fourth-place finish last season despite strong performances.
Last year, Jokić ranked fourth in the league with 129 total clutch points, yet his 121.7 clutch minutes were the fewest among the top four vote-getters.
This season, the Nuggets have been in more close games and Jokić has been making his presence felt in crunch time. He is third in the league in total clutch points, capitalizing on Denver’s tighter contests.
