NBA Clutch Player of the Year Odds: Jokić is Betting Favorite
Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokić has passed Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry as the betting favorite to win NBA’s Clutch Player of the Year now that the calendar has flipped to November. Jokić’s odds to win Clutch Player of the Year are now +425 after being +3500 in the offseason when I suggested to bet on him as a long shot.
Betting on Jokić to win Clutch Player of the Year is still my favorite way to have action on the best player in the world. Being in the MVP race has actually hurt Jokić’s chances of contending for this award, as evidenced by his fourth-place finish last year.
Jokić ranked fourth in the league with 129 total points in the clutch a season ago, but his 121.7 minutes marked the fewest among all top four vote-getters.
The Nuggets are expected to take a step back this year, meaning they will be involved in more close games on a regular basis. That has been the case thus far, with Jokić hitting some key shots in crunch time for Denver. He is currently second in the league in total points scored in the clutch.
