Forwards Dorian Finney-Smith and Cameron Johnson are expected to be on the move at some point. Both players could fetch decent draft capital from a contender aiming to improve its team on the margins.

Prediction: Back the Nets Early in 2024-25

The Nets are in full tank mode and the market reflects that. But they might have a competent roster.

Cam Thomas will be a player worth backing in the player prop market as a high-volume shooter. Center Nic Claxton is a solid defensive anchor, while Cameron Johnson and Dorian Finney-Smith will be coveted assets at the trade deadline. And maybe this is the year that Ben Simmons figures things out.

The point is, the Nets are being priced as a bottom feeder in the league. They have the lowest win total in the league, but I believe the Washington Wizards will challenge them for the worst record.

I don’t have any interest in Brooklyn’s win total because it’s easy to see this team being worse after it trades some of its top players.

Instead, I’ll likely be taking advantage of some discounted lines early in the season when the Nets are more competitive than people expect.
