The median salary for an NBA head coach is approximately $6 million, with the lowest paid still securing a minimum of at least $2 million per year.

Highest Paid NBA Coach
Steve Kerr is currently the highest-paid NBA coach.Â
Kerr, who has been with the Golden State Warriors since 2014, made $17.5 million during the 2025-26 season. His extension does not appear to have dramatically changed his compensation rate in either direction.Â
Kerr signed a new contract extension in May 2026 that keeps him in the Bay area through the end of the 2027-28 season.Â
