Auburn is on an inevitable march toward the No. 1 seed in the coming 2025 NCAA Tournament, but it still has a few conference games left on its schedule.
In addition to next week’s SEC Tournament, the Tigers must also go to Texas A&M on Tuesday night for its final true road game of the season.
As you can imagine, the game will be a prime opportunity for the Aggies to add to their NCAA resume. However, it’ll also be a major college basketball betting opportunity, and I’m here to offer a quick angle on the game.

Auburn vs. Texas A&M Preview
Auburn has been a juggernaut pretty much all season, reigning over all of Division I basketball with a whopping six more Quad 1 wins than any other team. Bruce Pearl’s club is very, very good.
Texas A&M is good too, but the Aggies are fading down the stretch. The Aggies were ranked No. 7 in the AP Poll and had won seven of their last eight games before their 70-54 loss at Mississippi State on Feb. 18.
Since then, A&M is searching for a turnaround mechanism. It’s now lost four straight games in the vaunted SEC and looking for a win to right the ship ahead of next week’s conference tournament.
On the court, A&M thrives on strong defense and uses its traditional offensive rebounding strength to correct for poor shooting. There’s also the possibility that a home game against the No. 1 team in the sport might be an opportunity to come together as a team and post a good performance.
In this case, when that foe is a hyper-consistent Auburn team that just seems to blast everyone, it just seems like effort and second-chance points won’t be enough. I’m also a bit skeptical that Texas A&M’s ball pressure and defense can do enough to disrupt the Tigers, who lead the nation in adjusted offensive efficiency, per KenPom.
In short: Auburn’s offense likely beats Texas A&M’s defense.

I am predicting an Auburn win at Texas A&M.
There are times to take the points against an overpriced Auburn team, but I don’t know if Texas A&M will be one of them. The Aggies are still a ranked team and a big brand with 20 wins, so there will be a market for betting the upset.
Unless the point spread is just remarkably high when the market is posted, I’ll be predisposed to laying the points with Auburn.
