The SEC set a new record in 2025 with an incredible seven teams in the Sweet 16.ย

That means half of the conferenceโ€™s tournament teams advanced to the second week. They were:

  • No. 1 Auburn
  • No. 1 Florida
  • No. 2 Alabama
  • No. 2 Tennessee
  • No. 3 Kentucky
  • No. 6 Ole Miss
  • No. 10 Arkansas

At the start of the 2025 NCAA menโ€™s basketball tournament, the SEC set a new record for most teams in the NCAA Tournament from one conference. With 14 teams in the field of 68 to start with, it became much easier to squeeze seven teams into the Sweet 16.

Previously, the record for most Sweet 16 teams from one conference was set by the ACC, which had six of its seven NCAA Tournament teams advance to the Sweet 16 in 2016.
