The SEC broke the record for most NCAA Tournament selections from a single conference. A staggering 14 of the SECโ€™s 16 teams will be participating in March Madness.

Traditionally known as a superpower in other sports like football or softball, SEC menโ€™s basketball was the story of the 2024-25 winter sports calendar.ย

Even if there are a few quibbles at the edges โ€“ did we really need Oklahoma and Texas to make the field with 6-12 conference records? โ€“ the SEC still would have likely broken the record in 2025.

The previous conference record, set by the Big East in 2011 before the conference was reconfigured through conference realignment, was 11 teams.

You can find a complete list of SEC teams in the 2025 NCAA Tournament here.ย
