What’s an ATS Record in NFL Betting?
ATS stands for “against the spread.”
If a team covers the spread, it’s an ATS win. If a team doesn’t cover the spread, it’s an ATS loss. And if a team ties the spread, it’s an ATS tie.
For example with Arizona Cardinals spreads: If the Cardinals are a 2.5-point underdog (+2.5) and lose the game by two points, they earn an ATS win even without an outright win.
If the Cardinals are a 2.5-point favorite (-2.5) and win the game by three points, they earn an ATS win while winning the game. But if the Cardinals win the game by two points, it’s an ATS loss.
If the Cardinals are a 3-point favorite (-3) and win the game by three points, it’s an ATS tie.
