NFL Draft Predictions: Ashton Jeanty Next Team
Based on Las Vegas’ lackluster running back room and their signal to try and contend immediately, I predict the Raiders (-125) draft Ashton Jeanty.
Hiring Pete Carroll and trading for Geno Smith signaled an attitude the Raiders hope to improve immediately.
While other position groups need to be addressed – Las Vegas rated out a bottom-half defense last year – running back is the most obvious need.
The Raiders finished 31st in rush offense DVOA and 32nd in rushing success rate last year after losing Josh Jacobs.
Las Vegas added Raheem Mostert in free agency to help that ranking. However, Jeanty offers higher upside in the long term.
Plus, in terms of evaluating the odds, Las Vegas essentially owns the first right of refusal on Jeanty
Jacksonville (+900) picks a spot ahead, but I’ll be surprised if the Jaguars give up on Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby that quickly.
While the Cowboys (+1500) stand out strictly from an odds profile, the Raiders own the profile of a team that drafts Jeanty.

In his three-year tenure at Boise State, Jeanty accumulated 4,769 rushing yards, including 2,601 in his junior season.
With 2,601 rushing yards and 2,750 all-purpose yards, Jeanty led the NCAA in both categories. He also amassed 29 rushing touchdowns in his final season, which ranked second in the FBS.
Jeanty’s statistical measures in 2024 earned the running back first-team AP All-American honors as well as the Mountain West offensive player of the year award.
