Hype has been surrounding the Detroit Lions after signs of progress last year and impressive moves in the offseason. It’s only picked up with the airing of HBO’s “Hard Knocks” show, which is featuring the Lions this year.
Recent history shows teams on “Hard Knocks” have a decent amount of success against the spread in that season. The Lions have Super Bowl odds of +12500 and the third-best NFC North odds of +850.

The Lions are 4.5-point underdogs to start the season against the Philadelphia Eagles. While that could be a loss, they have +250 odds of winning more than eight games.
Detroit’s odds of making the playoffs are +350. This is after adding edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams, two of the most talented players at their positions, in this year’s draft.
