The highest-scoring Super Bowl is Super Bowl XXIX when the San Diego Chargers and San Francisco 49ers combined for 75 points. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles nearly broke the record in Super Bowl LVII with 73 points.
The 49ers won, 49-26, comfortably covering the 18-point spread as one of the biggest Super Bowl favorites in NFL betting history. Steve Young won Super Bowl MVP after one of the most epic championship performances of all time, throwing for 325 yards and six touchdowns.
The Eagles also came close to breaking the record in their last appearance – a 41-33 shootout win over the Patriots in February 2018.
