Miami’s NFL odds have to be respected because of the young, cheap core that remains intact for 2023. 

One of the key names there is third-year receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Jaylen Waddle is now in his third season of a four-year contract with the Jaguars. The four-year deal is worth a total of $27,085,993. He currently has the 36th most expensive contract among wide receivers (total value).

For the 2023 season, his base salary is $940,000. He has a total cap hit of $7,387,090.

His contract is fully guaranteed.

Jaylen Waddle 5th-Year Option

Jaylen Waddle (and the rest of the 2021 first-round picks) can have their fifth-year options picked up until May 1, 2024.

All drafted rookies are given four-year contracts, and teams can extend that contract to a fifth year with players selected in the first round.

Jaylen Waddle is eligible for an extension after the third year of his rookie contract, which is after the upcoming 2023 NFL season. 

Waddle is an incredible talent, and the Dolphins are building a scary offense predicated on speed and skill. 

However, with Tua Tagovailoa’s rookie contract nearing its end and Tyreek Hill already on the books with the league’s most expensive contract for a wide receiver, the Dolphins may struggle to find the money to pay a guy like Waddle.
