Mitchell Trubisky was the only quarterback drafted ahead of Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft. 

Trubisky was selected second overall out of North Carolina by the Chicago Bears. Mahomes was picked 10th by the Kansas City Chiefs after his college football career at Texas Tech.

Mahomes became the NFL MVP in 2018, his first year as the full-time starter, and signed the biggest contract in NFL history two years later. Now he’s won two Super Bowl wins in three total Super Bowl appearances.
