Drafted No. 2 in 2018 by the New York Giants, running back Saquon Barkley is looking to build off a healthy 2022 campaign.

Saquon Barkley Potential Extension
In three of four NFL seasons that Barkley has been healthy, he’s posted Pro Bowl-caliber numbers and has delivered as one of the most dynamic running backs in the league. Barkley missed nearly all of the 2020 season and had a down year in 2021, but his 2022 numbers were the best of his career, rushing for 1,312 yards, with 338 receiving yards and ten touchdowns.
Barkley proved his importance to the Giants in 2022 by helping lead them back to the postseason. Assuming he can stay on the field in 2023, he’ll be due for another big contract.
Some comparable players Barkley can look at include Joe Mixon, Alvin Kamara, Dalvin Cook, and Christian McCaffrey. With those comparisons, Barkley will likely be looking for a new deal between four and five years, in addition to an average annual value near $14 million.
