Prior to the 2022 NFL season, Lamar Jackson reportedly turned down a five-year contract extension from the Ravens that would have been worth more than $250 million, with more than half of that sum guaranteed upon signing the offer.
Now, with Jackson on the Ravens’ franchise tag, the negotiations in Baltimore are as hot as they’ve ever been.
Officially, no one knows for sure what offers have transpired between Jackson and the Ravens outside of the two parties involved, but there have been well-sourced reports about where each side is financially for several months.
The Ravens reportedly have their “best offer” on the table for Jackson right now, with NFL free agency looming. That could indicate that the most recent offer to Lamar is even better than the one he reportedly received prior to last season.
Unlike most other high-end NFL players, Jackson does not have an agent. Despite this, he is seeking to extract a historic contract extension from the Ravens in the wake of Cleveland’s market-breaking 2022 contract for Deshaun Watson.
