Thomas Frank’s side has picked up points in 10 of 14 at the GTech Community Stadium this season. Their only four losses? Forest, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham.
Villa trail three of those sides in xGDiff per 90 minutes this season. The only team they lead – Tottenham – trails by only 0.04 xG per 90 in terms of differential.
Plus, Villa have struggled to earn outright wins this season when traveling on short rest.
Unai Emery’s side has played 12 EPL and UCL matches on short rest where travel was involved.
They’re 2-2-8 (W-D-L) across those 12 matches. Their wins? A lucky three points at RB Leipzig and a home win against Wolves, one of the EPL’s worst sides.
