- Liverpool is predicted to be a -1.5-goal home favorite against Tottenham.
- Liverpool has won each of its last six EPL home matches.
- My Liverpool vs. Tottenham prediction depends on Tottenham’s starting lineup.
For the marquee matchup on Matchday 34, Liverpool hosts Tottenham at Anfield.
Liverpool used a late goal at Leicester to capture a 1-0 road win on Matchday 33. The win gave Liverpool a third win in their last four matches and kept them atop the league table.
On Monday, Tottenham quickly fell behind against Nottingham Forest. A late second-half goal gave them hope, but Ange Postecoglou’s side ultimately fell 2-1.

Tottenham vs Liverpool: Prediction
Depending on the Tottenham starting lineup on Sunday, my Liverpool vs Tottenham prediction is the Tottenham Spread (+1.5, +115).
Even considering this bet is gross, given Tottenham are 6-10 ATS away from home this season.
The ultimate consideration for Tottenham is whether they prioritize this fixture or next Thursday’s Europa League first leg against Bodo/Glimt.
To even consider Tottenham at this number, their lineup needs to include Heung-Min Son, James Maddison, Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero.
If that happens, the argument in favor of Spurs is that they’re big underdogs for the first time all season with those four players available.
The closest Spurs came to sniffing this number came on April 3 as road underdogs to Chelsea.
In that match, Spurs played all four of those players, ultimately losing 1-0. However, Tottenham stayed within 0.1 xG and post-shot xG.
While a 6-3 loss earlier this season to Liverpool looks terrible, it’s worth considering Spurs featured neither van de Ven nor Romero in that fixture.
For all of Liverpool’s success this season, they’ve generally struggled to cover the spread as big favorites.
Arne Slot’s side closed north of -275 on the moneyline 14 times this season. In those fixtures, they’re a dismal 2-11-1 ATS.
One of those covers came as 2.5-goal favorites against Ipswich Town. The other? A 3-0 home win against Bournemouth that was undeserved by both expected goals and post-shot xG.
A final factor potentially worth considering: blind betting all 1.5-goal underdogs this season sees bettors go 41-28 ATS, including 28-18 against previous favorites.
All of that said, I’ll carry no interest in Tottenham throughout the week and will make a decision once lineups drop.
