  • Newcastle is +3300 to win the Premier League in 2024-25.
  • After reaching the Champions League, Newcastle fell to seventh in 2023.
  • Why bettors should buy low on Newcastleโ€™s 2023-24 campaign.

Following a brilliant 2022-23 campaign, Newcastle United came back down to Earth last year.ย

Playing in the UEFA Champions League for the first time, Newcastle understandably saw an 11-point dropoff.ย

Despite finishing seventh, they wonโ€™t feature in Europe after Manchester United earned an FA Cup title and snatched the Europa Conference League spot.ย

Hereโ€™s a look at the EPL odds, Newcastle odds and my betting predictions for Newcastleโ€™s campaign.ย

Newcastle Futures Odds

  • League Winner: +3300
  • Top-4 Finish: +188
  • Relegation Odds: +10000
  • Top Goalscorer: Alexander Isak (+1400)

Newcastle Notable Permanent Additions

  • Odysseas Vlachodimos, Goalkeeper (Nottingham Forest)
  • Lloyd Kelly, Defender (Bournemouth)
  • Lewis Hall, Defender (Chelsea)

Newcastle Prediction, 2024-25 Premier League Season

I predict Newcastle United (+200) finishes in the top-4 for the second time in three seasons. Additionally, theyโ€™re worth a sprinkle at +3300 to win the league.

So many of Newcastleโ€™s problems from last season stem from loads of injuries from a compact schedule.ย

Manager Eddie Howeโ€™s side amassed 41 separate injuries (T-3rd most) and lost 1,950 total days to injury (most).ย

For context, Newcastleโ€™s 1,950 days lost to injury was the most in the Premier League by 189 days. The difference between second and sixth on that list was 179 days!

That severely hindered their ability to execute what worked best for them in 2022-23: taking leads and dominating from ahead.ย

In 2022-23, the Magpies took the lead 24 times and earned 61 of a possible 72 points from those positions (W19-D4-L1).ย

Last year, they took the lead 25 times. However, they earned 58 of a possible 75 points.ย

Just at St. Jamesโ€™ Park, they converted only 12 of 17 leads into three points. The previous year, they converted 11 of 13 home leads into maximum points.ย

Plus, so many of their injuries came on the defensive side, forcing a massive dropoff from Newcastle.ย

In 2022-23, they ranked second in expected goals against. Last year, they were 12th in that category, per fbref.com.ย

However, it came during a season where Nick Pope, Kieran Trippier, Sven Botman, Fabian Schar and Dan Burn started 123 games.ย

The previous year, that quintet started 181 games.ย

With improved health and a more open schedule, Newcastle are a team Iโ€™m buying in 2024.
