  • Wolves is +50000 to win the Premier League in 2024-25.
  • Since finishing 10th in 2021-22, Wolves have failed to produce a top-half finish.
  • If Wolves sell key attackers, I predict they could be relegated in 2024.

The change to manager Gary Oโ€™Neil proved less than fruitful last season for Wolves.ย ย

Since finishing 10th in 2021-22, Wolves have fallen to 13th two years prior before dropping to 14th last year.ย

The struggles can largely be attributed to their offense. Only four teams scored fewer goals than Wolves last year with only three amassing fewer expected goals.ย

Hereโ€™s a look at the EPL odds, Wolverhampton Wanderers Odds and my betting predictions for their campaign.ย

Wolves Futures Odds

  • League Winner: +50000
  • Top-Half Finish: +300
  • Bottom-Half Finish: -550
  • Relegation Odds: +333

Wolves Notable Permanent Additions

  • Tommy Doyle, Midfielder (Manchester City
  • Rodrigo Gomes, Winger (Braga)
  • Pedro Lima, Defender (Sporting Recife)

Wolves Prediction, 2024 Premier League

I predict Wolves will finish in the bottom half of the league and could face relegation if they sell Pedro Neto.ย

The tricky part of handicapping Wolves is that you told me before the season four key attackers would start every game, Iโ€™d be bullish on them.ย

The problem? Those four attackers โ€” Matheus Cunha, Hee-Chan Hwang, Neto and Pablo Sarabia โ€” combined to start 92 of a possible 152 games last season.ย

Of those four, none started more than 29 matches.ย

Wolves were at their best in terms of record when Neto started. They earned points in 12 of 20 matches in which he appeared and 11 of 18 in which he started.ย

However, rumors are circulating that Neto could leave the club. If he does, that would severely hamper Wolvesโ€™ attacking threat.ย

Plus, Wolves drastically overperformed last season and owe a lot of results to goalkeeper Jose Sa.ย

Oโ€™Neilโ€™s side posted a -15 goal differential compared to a -21 expected goal differential. Most of that can be attributed to Sa saving 8.9 goals over post-shot expected, the most in the league.ย

Defensively, thereโ€™s great cause for concern.ย

Only four teams posted a worse post-shot expected goals against output than Wolves, who sold defender Max Kilman in the summer. Over the last two seasons, Kilman failed to start only one game.ย

If the Wolves defense is already bad, arguments could be made theyโ€™ll be worse without Kilman.ย

Given Sa has proved a streaky keeper in three Premier League seasons โ€” he allowed 5.6 goals over expected the prior season โ€” this team could easily suffer the drop.ย

However, keeping Neto would go a long way for this team staving off relegation.
