UFC 310: Pantoja vs. Asakura

Alexandre Pantoja retained his UFC flyweight title after beating promotional debutant Kai Asakura in the main event of UFC 310 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas via second-round submission. “The Cannibal” proved that he’s the undisputed king of the division by flaunting his elite-level grappling skills and finishing the Japanese superstar with a sleek rear-naked choke finish. It was his third consecutive title defense since capturing the championship in July 2023.

UFC 309: Jones vs. Miocic

Jon Jones successfully defended his UFC heavyweight title against former champion Stipe Miocic in the headliner of UFC 309 inside the Madison Square Garden via third-round TKO. “Bones” landed a vicious spinning back kick to Miocic’s body, instantly dropping him and finishing it with ground-and-pound strikes. Jones joined Daniel Cormier, Henry Cejudo, and Amanda Nunes as the only UFC champions to defend their titles in two different divisions with this victory.

UFC 308: Topuria vs. Holloway

Ilia Topuria had a successful first title defense of his UFC featherweight title when he defeated the reigning BMF champion Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 308, which went down inside the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. “El Matador” was the first fighter ever to knock Holloway out, and he did so in just three rounds. He caught “Blessed” with his powerful punches and officially ended the match with ground-and-pound strikes. This marked a new era in the division after he previously defeated Alexander Volkanovski in February.

UFC 307: Pereira vs. Rountree Jr.

For the third time this year, Alex Pereira has successfully defended his UFC light heavyweight title after he scored a fourth-round TKO finish on No. 8-ranked contender Khalil Rountree Jr. in the main event of UFC 307 inside the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. “Poatan” was cautious of Rountree Jr.’s power in the opening phase of the match and was patient with his offense. But his powerful calf kicks and punching combinations were too much for the challenger, and he finally folded in the fourth round with thunderous punches to the body to end the match.

UFC 306: O’Malley vs. Dvalishvili

Another classic battle between a striker and a grappler was witnessed in the main event of UFC 306, aka Noche UFC, at the Sphere in Las Vegas, as Sean O’Malley and Merab Dvalishvili fought for the UFC bantamweight title on Sept. 14. This time, it was the grappler who reigned supreme and Dvalishvili scored a masterful unanimous decision victory over O’Malley to become the newest undisputed king of the division. The Georgian powerhouse maximized his grappling skills to control “Suga” down the mat for a significant amount of time and rain down ground-and-pound strikes.

UFC 305: Du Plessis vs. Adesanya

The heated rivalry between Dricus Du Plessis and Israel Adesanya finally reached its climax in the main event of UFC 305 inside the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, on Aug. 18. Du Plessis successfully fended off the challenge of the former titleholder by submitting him in the fourth round of their UFC middleweight title match. The two went back and forth in the first three rounds with top-level striking until “Stillknocks” eventually maneuvered into a rear-naked choke technique to finish “The Last Stylebender.” It was Du Plessis’ first successful title defense since winning the belt in January.

UFC 304: Edwards vs. Muhammad 2

Leon Edwards’ reign as the UFC welterweight champion was snapped by Belal Muhammad after a unanimous decision loss in front of his home fans in Manchester, England, on July 27 for the main event of UFC 304. Muhammad successfully employed his fight plan to overwhelm Edwards with his grappling-heavy approach. This victory by Muhammad has put him in fourth place as the longest active unbeaten streak in the UFC, with 11 wins, and has given a more conclusive ending to his previous match against Edwards in March 2021, which resulted in a no-contest.

UFC 303: Pereira vs. Prochazka 2

Reigning undisputed UFC light heavyweight champion, Alex Pereira has successfully fended off the challenge of Jiri Prochaza during their title rematch in the main event of UFC 303 that went down inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. “Poatan” only needed two rounds to finish “BJP” and secure his second championship defense since winning the belt in November. The Brazilian superstar landed a switch kick in the opening seconds of the second round to floor Prochazka and capped it off with ground-and-pound punches.

UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier

Islam Makhachev recorded his third UFC lightweight title defense by fending off the challenge of No. 4-ranked contender Dustin Poirier and submitting him in the fifth round of their championship clash in Newark. It was a tough challenge for Makhachev as Poirier pushed him to the championship rounds. However, the Dagestani superstar eventually finished him with a Brabo choke to extend his reign as the division’s undisputed king.

UFC 301: Pantoja vs. Erceg

Alexandre Pantoja successfully fended off another challenger in his reign as the undisputed UFC flyweight. The Brazilian star scored a unanimous decision win over Steve Erceg in front of his compatriots inside the Farmasi Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Pantoja maximized his superior grappling skills to put Erceg down nine times throughout the match and outstrike him 143-129 to sway the judges into giving him the victory. This is his second title defense since winning the belt in July 2023.

UFC 300: Pereira vs. Hill

Alex Pereira’s first UFC light heavyweight title defense was successful. He defeated the former champion Jamahal Hill via a first-round knockout in the headliner of the monumental UFC 300 card inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The Brazilian MMA superstar made it look easy, as he only needed three minutes and 14 seconds to finish the American challenger. Following the win, Pereira reiterated his intention to be a busy champion and a potential move to the heavyweight division.

UFC 299: Oโ€™Malley vs. Vera 2

Sean Oโ€™Malley successfully defended his UFC title for the first time after scoring a unanimous decision victory over Marlon Vera in the main event of UFC 299, which took place inside the Kaseya Center in Miami on March 9. Oโ€™Malley took Vera to school with his elite striking and avenged his previous loss from their first meeting in 2020. This latest win has improved Oโ€™Malleyโ€™s record to 18 wins and one defeat.

UFC 298: Volkanovski vs. Topuria

Ilia Topuria maximized his first UFC title shot by knocking out the dominant 145-pound champion Alexander Volkanovski in the headliner of UFC 298 on Feb. 17 inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Topuria timed a perfect right-hand punch straight to Volkanovskiโ€™s chin that immediately sent him down, crashing the canvas. After a few more punches, the referee officially intervened and stopped the fight in his favor.

UFC 297: Strickland vs. Du Plessis

Dricus Du Plessis eked out a razor-thin split decision victory against Sean Strickland in the main event of UFC 297 on Jan. 20ย  at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto to become the newest UFC middleweight champion. Despite having a less significant output throughout the match, the South African star dominated the grappling exchanges, which was enough to persuade the judges to give him the victory.
