Brazilian lightweight contender Renato Moicano tried to defy the UFC odds by accepting a day of notice to replace Arman Tsarukyan and face the UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev in the main event of UFC 311 last Saturday evening inside the Intuit Dome in Inglewood.
However, Moicanoโs gallant stand wasnโt enough to get him the victory, as Makhachev imposed his dominance to get the first-round submission victory. It was Makhachevโs fourth successive title defense, making him the most decorated 155-pound champion in the promotionโs history.
Elsewhere in the card, Merab Dvalishvili, Umar Nurmagomedov, Jiลรญ Prochรกzka, and Jailton Almeida received the $50,000 for the Fight of the Night and Performance Bonus of the Night.
