Based on Premier League odds at the BetMGM online sportsbook, Brighton & Hove Albion and Brentford are my EPL predictions to positively regress.
Brighton finished 11th last year, but finished historically unlucky based on the play of opponent goalkeepers. Additionally, despite possessing a top-six defense, they experienced further bad luck thanks to poor goalkeeping play.
Even with a new manager in 2024, Brighton's return to full health should allow them to positively regression in 2024.
Regarding Brentford, the Bees dropped from ninth in 2022 to 16th last year. However, they still posted the eighth-best expected goal differential.
Most of their dropoff can be attributed to their defense, which sustained loads of injuries last season. If manager Thomas Frank can improve their defensive record, Brentford could threaten the top half.
