  • The Atlanta Dream notched their first postseason berth since 2018 last year.
  • Atlanta is -225 to return to the WNBA Playoffs in 2024.

The Atlanta Dream are coming off their first postseason berth since 2018, losing 2-0 to the Dallas Wings in the first round.

This past offseason, the Dream put themselves in a position to take the next step by trading for point guard Jordin Canada while taking some chances on some long-term prospects in the draft.

As a result, the odds at the online sportsbook expect the Dream to remain in the mix in 2024 and beyond.

Dream Futures Odds

Win total: 18.5
To make playoffs: -225
To miss playoffs: +180
Championship odds: +6000

The Dream went 19-21 last year, tied for the third-most wins in franchise history dating back to 2008.

Atlantaโ€™s win total sits at 18.5 this season, with bettors getting +120 value on the over and a -145 price tag on the under.

Dream 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: To Make Playoffs (-200)

Note: This line has moved since the bet was made in early May.

Like my Minnesota Lynx team preview, I donโ€™t see any value in the win total.ย

Iโ€™d rather pay the juice on this team to make the playoffs, though I wouldnโ€™t pay more than -200 on any fringe squads to reach the postseason.

There is much to like about the Dreamโ€™s overall outlook. And perhaps it all clicks as soon as this season.ย

Canada is a difference-maker at point guard, a position Atlanta struggled at last year. The Dream didnโ€™t have anyone who could initiate offensive sets like Canada.

That should bring the most out of former No. 1 overall pick Rhyne Howard. The third-year wing has averaged 16.9 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Iโ€™m still worried that this team is too young to contend with a top-heavy league in 2024.ย

But Atlanta can certainly notch consecutive postseason berths for the first time since 2014.
