  • Three teams have won four championships since the WNBA was formed in 1998.
  • The Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm have the most titles among active teams.

The Houston Comets were the WNBAโ€™s first dynasty, winning the first four championships between 1997 and 2000. The franchise ultimately folded in 2008, but four remains the record for most titles in the WNBA.

The Minnesota Lynx and Seattle Storm have won four championships, though not in consecutive seasons.

Minnesota won titles in 2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017, while Seattle won in 2004, 2010, 2018, and 2020. Both the Lynx and Storm are still active WNBA franchises, giving them a chance to break the three-way tie with one more title.
