  • The French Open women’s draw was released on Thursday.
  • Iga Swiatek (-155) has won three of the last four French Open tournaments.
  • The third quarter is primed for a dark horse run.

BetMGM updated its French Open odds on Thursday morning. The futures refresh came after Roland Garros released the full draw tables for both the men’s and women’s tournament.

World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is poised to capture her fourth French Open championship in five years. Unsurprisingly, BetMGM’s tennis odds have Swiatek as a huge favorite.

French Open Women’s Draw: Serious Odds For Swiatek

Rafael Nadal is the player most synonymous with greatness at Roland Garros. Nadal has 14 career French Open championships, and it’s unlikely that record will ever be broken.

Lately, though, it’s actually been Swiatek who’s won the most games in Paris, winning the championship in 2020, 2022, and 2023.

At BetMGM, ahead of the start of the main draw, she’s -155 to finish the three-peat. She’s bringing a 14-match winning streak into the French Open, having just won back-to-back WTA 1000 events in Rome and Madrid.

Swiatek is 51-4 on clay since the beginning of 2022.

French Open Women’s Draw: Sabalenka Reloads For Another Clay Challenge

Aryna Sabalenka, who is No. 2 in the French Open women’s table at +500, is the most likely challenger to Swiatek in the draw. The Belarusian has reached the semifinals or farther in six straight slams, winning each of the last two Australian Opens.

Tennis fans know Sabalenka can win on hardcourt. But she has played Swiatek twice on clay in the last month, winning only one set.

Swiatek may simply be too much on clay, even for the No. 2 player in the world.

French Open Women’s Draw: The Third-Quarter Mystery

For bettors who like to get involved in quarterfinal futures, the third quarter of the 2024 French Open women’s draw is particularly wide-open.

Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon champion, is one of the top players in this quarter. But Rybakina isn’t known for her clay prowess; she hasn’t made it past the third round at Roland Garros since 2021.

Qinwen Zheng is the other top target in the quarter, as she has cracked the WTA Top 10 this spring. But Zheng, too, is much more experienced as a hardcourt player. She’s never reached the quarterfinal round at Roland Garros.

Zheng could make a breakthrough here – she’s reached the quarterfinals or better in her last two slam appearances – but it’s just as likely that a more anonymous player who’s comfortable on clay makes a run.

If you’re into throwing darts for longer returns, this might be the zone to do it. Personally, I like Elina Svitolina, but there’s definitely a case for getting more aggressive and picking a bigger underdog.
