  • The Korea Open marks the professional tennis tourโ€™s autumnal swing to Asia.
  • The total prize purse is more than $900,000.

September is a busy time in online sports betting, so many Americans may not be aware of whatโ€™s going on with the professional tennis tour. After all, the U.S. Open has now concluded, and there are no more grand slams left for this calendar year.ย

Tennis fans know the deal. Late September is when the tour flips from North America to Asia, with many of the remaining tour events crisscrossing China, Japan, and South Korea.ย

As a result, many tennis betting opportunities will start in the middle of the night, at least for those looking at tennis odds in the states.

This week, while there are small tournaments in China hosted in Hangzhou and Chengdu, the largest tour event (aside from next weekendโ€™s Laver Cup in Berlin) is a WTA event in Seoul, South Korea.ย

The Korea Open offers a fun draw with several prominent Russian players, including Daria Kasatkina, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Liudmila Samsonova.ย

The 2023 champion, Jessica Pegula, is not participating in this yearโ€™s draw. However, several other Americans are, including Peyton Stearns, Amanda Anisimova, and Sloane Stephens.

The total prize purse for the 2024 Korea Open is $922,573. That includes a $142,000 award for the winner of the singles tournament.ย
