De Los Santos, on the other hand, is the overwhelming underdog with +700 odds. Apart from already sustaining a loss to his record, De Los Santos is the considerable underdog because it will be his first major world title opportunity after winning multiple regional titles.

Shakur Stevenson vs. Edwin De Los Santos: Fight Analysis
The tale of the tape between Stevenson and De Los Santos is almost identical, with the latter only having 2 inches of reach advantage and a higher TKO/KO percentage. Meanwhile, the former is two years older and has the perfect record to boot. Both are standing at 5-foot-8 in height and are fighting in a southpaw stance.
Expect this world title fight to be like a bullfight, with Stevenson playing the role of a matador and De Los Santos as the bull. Because he acknowledges his power, De Los Santos always comes forward and applies pressure to his opponents, as he knows that once he lands a clean power shot, it will surely hurt them instantly.
Meanwhile, Stevenson is like a matador waiting for the bull to come to him before evading them and avoiding the attack that comes in his direction. Once he dodges the punches of his opposition, he immediately throws a counterpunch that catches them off guard. He is good at finding the great angle and timing of his counters.
The key for De Los Santos in this match is not to rush forward and wait patiently in the pocket because he tends to leave himself open when exchanging blows against his opponents. A perfect example was when he fought Valenzuela, where he got clipped on the head when they engaged in the pocket. He also needs to throw more jabs to keep Stevenson at bay.
On the other hand, Stevenson looks excellent in the 135-pound division because he isnโt worrying about weight cutting, unlike when he was in the super featherweight division. His power seems acclimated already as seen in his win against Yoshino, where he scored a sixth-round TKO.
His ideal fight plan for this showdown with De Los Santos is to lure him forward and make him the aggressor. Once he calculates the proper distance and defensive lapses, Stevenson can finally fire his counters and check hooks that built his reputation as one of the best counterpunchers today.
