As of June 6, the Los Angeles Angels’ odds to win the World Series in 2023 are +5000, ranking them 14th in Major League Baseball.
Prior to Opening Day, the online sportsbook had the Angels at +2500 to win the World Series, but the team’s struggles this season have seen their odds become a fair bit longer.
Los Angeles Angels World Series History
The Angels have only won one World Series title in their franchise’s history — 2002.
In fact, 2002 is also the only World Series the Angels have appeared in, despite their franchise dating back to 1961. The team has competed in nine other AL Championship Series (1979, 1982, 1986, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2014) but failed to advance further each time.
The 2002 World Series was the fourth in MLB history to be played between two teams from California, with the Angels beating the San Francisco Giants in seven games. The Angels roster was stacked with talent, with Troy Glaus being named World Series MVP, Garret Anderson winning a Silver Slugger Award, and both Darin Erstad and Bengie Molina winning Gold Gloves.
Manager Mike Scioscia was also named AL Manager of the Year for the 2002 season.
