Predictions for MLB Home Runs Today
Favorite: Patrick Wisdom (+450)
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Chicago Cubs, 7:40 p.m. ET
Wisdom has already smashed 11 home runs this season and there are absolutely no signs of him slowing down.
So far in 2023, Wisdom has slashed .236/.333/.591 with 26 hits and 21 RBIs, which is already tracking to be a huge improvement on last season. He went yard 25 times in 2022, but with the way he’s going, I expect to see a lot more this season.
Facing the Cardinals today, Wisdom will have a good opportunity to knock the ball around, and I won’t be surprised to see him add a 12th home run to his 2023 stats.
Long Shot: Tim Anderson (+900)
Chicago White Sox vs. Kansas City Royals, 7:40 p.m. ET
Anderson has only recently been activated off the IL, and the ailing White Sox desperately need him. He’s yet to smash his first home run of the 2023 season, but between his wave-making home runs in the World Baseball Classic and his infamous walk-off at the 2021 Field of Dreams Game, Anderson’s certainly proven he’s capable of it.
Through 2022, Anderson slashed .301/.339/.395, which proves his power, even if he only managed six home runs. Even without a lineup of homers this season, he’s batting .263, so it’s not out of the question for him to go yard today.
Is 2023 his year to get back on top? Perhaps it all starts with a single home run.
