The youngest player in MLB history was Joe Nuxhall, who debuted in the MLB for the Cincinnati Reds on June 10, 1944, at 15 years of age. Jackson Chourio — 20 years old
The Brewers are counting on Chourio to be the face of their franchise, which is why they inked him to an eight-year, $82 million extension in December. It shattered the record for the largest contract ever signed by a player before making their MLB debut.
A native of Maracaibo, Venezuela, Chourio posted an .837 OPS across three Minor League seasons and has converted from shortstop to outfielder. He hit a career-best 22 home runs in 2023.
Chourio, who just turned 20 on March 11, remains on the big league roster for a Brewers team contending for a NL Central title.
