- Which teams do bettors expect can challenge David Beckham’s superteam?
- This Eastern Conference side is receiving sharp attention at the BetMGM sportsbook.
The Major League Soccer season is officially underway, and I’m here to deliver an MLS public betting odds report for the league winner market.
Normally, public support is defined as when a side receives more than 51% of all tickets. In terms of index futures market, it’s defined as plurality support.
Bettors can identify sharp support when a team receives more money compared to their ticket count.
With that established, let’s get to this week’s data based on MLS odds.
MLS Public Betting Odds Report – League Winner
As of March 28, Inter Miami (+250) is the public MLS futures side in the league winner market at BetMGM online sportsbook.
Led by former Barcelona standouts Sergio Busquets, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, the David Beckham-owned club has received 15.7% of all tickets to win the league.
Last season, Miami didn’t reach the playoffs – they added their talismans mid-season – but won the Leagues Cup final over Nashville SC.
Here are the other popular MLS sides in terms of ticket percentage:
- Columbus Crew (+900): 13.9% of tickets
- FC Cincinnati (+1000): 9.8% of tickets
- Colorado Rapids (+10000): 5.6% of tickets
- New England Revolution (+10000): 5.3% of tickets
- Los Angeles FC (+1400): 4.2% of tickets
- Seattle Sounders (+2000): 3.9% of tickets
- Toronto FC (+6600): 3.6% of tickets
- St. Louis City SC (+2800): 3.5% of tickets
- Sporting Kansas City (+4000): 3.3% of tickets
- Philadelphia Union (+1600): 3.2% of tickets
- All Other Teams: 3% or Fewer
MLS Sharp Betting Odds Report – League Winner
There’s one standout team in the futures market drawing a higher money percentage than their ticket count: FC Cincinnati.
The Eastern Conference side is third in total ticket percentage with 9.8%. However, they lead the total handle with 16.7% of all dollars.
Three other teams have shown signs of sharp support based on their handle percentages.
The first is LAFC, who has accounted for 6.5% of the total handle on only 4.2% of tickets, despite falling from +800 at market open to +1600.
Next are the Philadelphia Union and Los Angeles Galaxy, the latter of which has moved from +2500 at market open to +1200.
Philadelphia has accounted for 4.2% of handle on 3.2% of tickets while the Galaxy have seen 4.1% of handle on 2.9% of tickets.
