One franchise will get the opportunity to draft Cooper Flagg, who is considered the top prospect in next year’s rookie class. Flagg, a 6-foot-9 forward, has put together an impressive freshman campaign at Duke and has the potential to be a franchise player at the next level.

Cooper Flagg Next Team Prediction: Pelicans, Wizards Begin as Favorites
Predicting which team will win the NBA draft lottery is a difficult challenge, but it’s worth noting that the New Orleans Pelicans and Washington Wizards are betting favorites with +550 odds to land Flagg in the 2025 draft.
That makes sense based on how the regular season is unfolding. The Wizards have the worst record in the league, while the Pelicans are near the bottom of the Western Conference during an injury-riddled campaign.
While teams with a worse record have better odds, that doesn’t always equate to the ping pong balls bouncing their way during the lottery. For example, the Detroit Pistons earned the No. 5 pick in last year’s draft after posting the worst record in the league.
More teams are actively trying to lose this year compared to last season, largely thanks to the potential talent of the upcoming rookie class. That makes for an entertaining race for the No. 1 pick, but it also makes this market even more unpredictable.
Personally, I’d like to see Flagg end up with the Wizards or Jazz. Utah has never had the No. 1 pick in the NBA draft, while Washington hasn’t had the top pick since taking John Wall in 2010.
