  • The Dallas Mavericks lost in the NBA Finals last year.
  • Dallasโ€™ win total is 50.5 entering the 2024-25 season.

After losing in the NBA Finals last year, the Dallas Mavericks enter 2024-25 as one of the biggest contenders.

NBA futures odds are available at the online sportsbook, including Dallas Mavericks odds for NBA champion, division winner, and player awards.

Mavericks Futures Odds

Win Total: 50.5
Southwest Division: +105
Western Conference: +450
NBA Championship: +1100

The Mavericks are NBA odds favorites after last yearโ€™s 50-win season ended with them reaching the NBA Finals.

Dallas is +1100 to win this yearโ€™s title after being between +2500 and +3000 in the preseason for the last four summers. The Mavs are +500 to repeat as Western Conference champions after being +1300 this time last year.

The Mavsโ€™ win total is in the 50s for the first time since their over/under was 56.5 in 2007-08.

The Mavericks won the Klay Thompson sweepstakes, but also lost some key contributors to last yearโ€™s roster this offseason.

Thompson chose to sign with the Mavericks over the Los Angeles Lakers, hoping to be the final piece to a team with championship aspirations.

The Mavs believe Thompson can be just that, inking him to a three-year, $50 million deal. Thompson remains one of the better shooters in the league and should get plenty of open looks with teams focused on Luca Donฤiฤ‡ and Kyrie Irving.

Dallas traded away Josh Green and Tim Hardaway Jr. while watching Derrick Jones sign with the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency. All three players averaged at least 23.5 minutes per game last year.

Mavericks 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: Luka Donฤiฤ‡ to Win MVP (+375)

Donฤiฤ‡ is no stranger to starting as the betting favorite to win MVP. He has been the preseason favorite in three of the past four seasons.

That streak could continue this year, with Donฤiฤ‡ currently serving as a co-favorite along with Nikola Jokiฤ‡. The Denver Nuggets superstar has won three MVP awards (all in the last four years), while Donฤiฤ‡ has yet to finish higher than third in MVP voting.

But this is the year for Donฤiฤ‡ to claim his first award. He had a strong case last year, leading the league in scoring with an average of 33.9 points per game, 9.2 rebounds, and 9.8 assists.

Dallasโ€™ fifth-place finish in the Western Conference prevented Donฤiฤ‡ from being a more serious contender, which proved a mistake once he led his team to the NBA Finals.

As evidenced by the preseason win total, the Mavs will fight for a higher seed in the West this year. That could be all the ammunition Donฤiฤ‡ needs for voters to give him his long-overdue MVP trophy.
