Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was drafted 11th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2018 NBA Draft. 

That means 10 players were selected before him: Deandre Ayton, Marvin Bagley III, Luka Dončić, Jaren Jackson Jr., Trae Young, Mo Bamba, Wendell Carter Jr., Collin Sexton, Kevin Knox, and Mikal Bridges.

What Did Clippers Trade for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?

The Los Angeles Clippers acquired Shai Gilgeous-Alexander in 2018 by trading the 12th overall pick in the 2018 draft, plus two future second-round picks. 

Charlotte used the 12th pick to draft Miles Bridges. 

What Did Thunder Trade for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander?

The Thunder acquired Shai Gilgeous Alexander in 2019 as part of the blockbuster Paul George trade. 

In exchange for sending George to Los Angeles, OKC received Gilgeous-Alexander, Danilo Gallinari, Miami’s 2021 first-round pick, four unprotected first-round picks, a lottery-protected 2025 Miami Heat draft pick, and two Clippers pick swaps for 2023 and 2025.
