- Hereโs a list of NBA players with the most NBA Finals points.
- Jerry West leads the list with 1,679.
- All players on the list were able to win an NBA title.
Making it to the NBA Finals is a daunting task to do as stars sometimes need to defy the NBA odds stacked against them to deliver their teams to the promised land. They do everything they can to put themselves in the best possible position to win a title and lead a successful campaign.
One of the best ways that superstars help their teamโs championship aspirations is by scoring points in the NBA Finals. But who, in the leagueโs history, has accumulated the most points in the finals? And was it translated to championships?
Los Angeles Lakers icon Jerry West is leading the list with 1,679 in 55 games. โThe Logoโ made nine trips to the finals but could only win one title because he was always on the losing end of Bostonโs dominance during the 1960s, where he lost eight times. Despite these unfortunate results, West averaged 30.5 points, 5 assists, and 5.6 assists.
OTD: Jerry West had 53 PTS & 10 AST in GM1 of the 1969 Finals vs the Celtics.
West is also the only player to ever win NBA Finals MVP on a losing team. He averaged 37.9 PPG, 7.4 APG, 4.7 RPG in 7 games. pic.twitter.com/vtp63K7XHN

LeBron James sits second on the list with a career total of 1,562 points in the NBA Finals. Like West, James played 55 games and racked up 28.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.8 assists. โKing Jamesโ led his team to 10 NBA Finals appearances, but he could only win four championships on all those tries.
Following West and James is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who played in 56 NBA Finals games and produced 1,317 points. The six-time league MVP and 19-time all-star made 10 trips to the NBA Finals and bagged six rings. Abdul-Jabbar has the most games played among the top five players on this list.
Wrapping up the top five list are Michael Jordan (1,176) and Elgin Baylor (1,161). โAir Jordanโ has posted incredible finals numbers of 33.6 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists; Baylor had 26.4 points and 13.5 rebounds. Jordan was perfect in the NBA Finals with six appearances and six titles, while Baylor made it to eight finals but never won a single one.
The other five players on the top 10 list are Bill Russell (1,151 points), Sam Jones (1,143 points), Tom Heinsohn (1,035 points), John Havlicek (1,020 points), and Magic Johnson (971 points).
