  • The Rockets went 41-41 last year.
  • Houstonโ€™s win total is 43.5 entering 2024-25.

The Houston Rockets hope to take the next step in their rebuild following a 41-41 campaign in 2023-24.

NBA futures odds are available at the online sportsbook, including Houston Rockets odds for NBA champion, division winner, and player awards.

Rockets Futures Odds

Win Total: 43.5
Southwest Division: +800
Western Conference: +5000
NBA Championship: +12500

The Rockets remain an NBA odds long shot, but their path to a playoff spot is much more attainable than in previous years.

Houstonโ€™s win total has jumped 12 games since it quickly cleared last yearโ€™s mark of 31.5. This marked the first time the Rockets had finished over their preseason win total since 2017-18.

Rockets Offseason Moves

It was a quiet offseason for a Rockets team focused on youth development.

The Rockets might have landed the best player in the draft with the No. 3 overall pick.

Reed Sheppard, a Rookie of the Year odds contender, certainly looked the part during his NBA Summer League action. He demonstrated his playmaking and shooting ability after averaging 12.5 points and 4.5 assists per game during his lone collegiate season at Kentucky.

The Rockets also added A.J. Griffin Jr. to their talented young core via a trade with the Atlanta Hawks.

Rockets 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: Under 43.5 Wins (-105)

Itโ€™s important to remember that progression isnโ€™t always linear.

Houstonโ€™s rebuild has seemed that way thus far, starting with a 17-win season in 2020-21 before following that up with 20 wins in 2021-22 and 22 victories in 2022-23.

The logical assumption is that the Rockets will become a winning team this year and contend for a playoff spot. But the Western Conference isnโ€™t getting any easier, especially if the Memphis Grizzlies return to form this year.

The Rockets were 29-35 before the calendar flipped to March last year, earning a dozen wins during a stretch of the regular season where teams simply arenโ€™t trying as much.

Many of the key players on Houstonโ€™s roster are still trying to figure out their role on this team and in this league.ย

The Rockets might still be a year away, though their rebuild shows plenty of promise.
