The Southeast Division will continue to run through Florida during the 2024-25 NBA season.
After winning the division by one game last year, the Orlando Magic opened as betting favorites to repeat. The Miami Heat are the only other team listed shorter than 15/1 after winning the Southeast in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

Southeast Division Betting Prediction
Prediction: Magic to Win Southeast (-135)
Note: This line has moved to -150 since making this pick.
The division isnโt very competitive, but the Magic have the profile of a team I want to back in the regular season.
Orlando ranked second in defensive rating last year. Elite teams on the defensive end typically have more consistent success throughout the regular season.
The Magic also have a younger core, particularly compared to the Heat’s roster. Paolo Banchero has improved in his first two seasons, while fourth-year players Jalen Suggs and Franz Wagner still have more upside.
Orlando should also do a better job of winning its division games this year. The Magic went 9-7 in the Southeast, while the Heat led the way with a 13-3 clip in this grouping.
The Magic are here to stay in a weak division.
