  • The Thunder went 57-25 last year to claim the No. 1 seed.
  • Oklahoma City opens as the favorite to win the Western Conference.

After being a young team that exceeded expectations last season, the Oklahoma City Thunder appear ready to become contenders in 2024-25 and beyond.

The Thunder enter the year as favorites to win the West and the biggest threat to the Boston Celtics in their quest to repeat as NBA champions.

NBA futures odds are available at the online sportsbook, including Oklahoma City Thunder odds for NBA champion, division winner, and player awards.

Thunder Futures Odds

Win Total: 55.5
Northwest Division: +140
Western Conference: +350
NBA Championship: +750

After claiming the No. 1 seed in the West with a 57-25 record, the Thunder are getting plenty of respect in the NBA odds market.

Oklahoma Cityโ€™s preseason win total of 55.5 is its highest over/under since a mark of 57.5 ahead of the 2015-16 campaign. The Thunder finished with 55 wins that year.

In addition, Oklahoma Cityโ€™s preseason NBA championship price hasnโ€™t been this short since it was +750 entering 2015-16.

Thunder Offseason Moves

The Thunder had a strong summer, continuing to build the best infrastructure in the NBA.

Oklahoma City made perfect additions to its roster this summer after losing in the Western Conference semifinals.

The Thunder traded Josh Giddey to the Chicago Bulls for veteran Alex Caruso.

Caruso has made an All-Defensive team in each of the last two seasons and adds a shooting dynamic after hitting 40.8% of his 3-pointers last year.

Center Isaiah Hartenstein was also brought in on a three-year deal to add some size next to Chet Holmgren inside.

The best part is that the Thunder didnโ€™t have to surrender any draft capital, meaning they still have plenty of ammo to make a big move if they choose to.

Nobody is in a better situation than Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti.

Thunder 2024 Betting Prediction

Prediction: Thunder to Win Northwest Division (+140)

There are several ways to play the upside of the Thunder this year.

Iโ€™ve already made the case for Chet Holmgren as a Defensive Player of the Year odds sleeper, though his price has moved from +2200 to +1500.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is one of the top MVP contenders after last yearโ€™s runner-up finish.

I donโ€™t even blame someone for wanting to take Oklahoma Cityโ€™s future prices to win the West or NBA Finals odds.

But Iโ€™m taking the safer route by betting on the Thunder to win their division for the second year in a row.ย

With the Denver Nuggets losing another critical rotation player this offseason, I rate the Thunder comfortably ahead of them in the regular season.

The Thunder are in a position to repeat as the top team in the West and could challenge for the best record in basketball.

Skyโ€™s the limit for what this team can accomplish next year, particularly in the regular season.
