Victor Wembanyama Prop Bet Prediction vs. Mavericks

My favorite Victor Wembanyama player prop bet prediction for Thursday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks is under 26.5 points (-125) because I think the market has inflated his initial offensive impact in his second season.

Wembanyama is a lot of things. He’s a -155 preseason favorite in the latest Defensive Player of the Year odds. He’s going to win a lot of DPOY awards in his career. He will likely win multiple MVP awards and become one of the best players in the league soon.

But his offensive game remains a work in progress.

During his brilliant rookie season, Wembanyama averaged 21.4 points per game on 46.5% shooting. While the addition of veteran point guard Chris Paul should create easier baskets for Wembanyama, I’m not convinced the two of them will be on the same page immediately.

Wembanyama scored 19 points in two preseason games, attempting 21 shots in 40 minutes. I project him to clear 20 points, but his scoring prop is high as of this writing. He only cleared this mark in 27% of his games last year.
