Forty-four current Division-I menโ€™s basketball programs that have never qualified for the NCAA tournament.

Most of them are eligible for inclusion in March Madness this year (or any other year), as long as they win the automatic bid thatโ€™s awarded to the winner of each conference tournament.

However, about 20% of the teams on the current list are ineligible for the NCAA Tournament as part of a recent Division I reclassification action. These teams are denoted in the table below with an asterisk.

SIU Edwardsville, High Point, and Nebraska-Omaha all removed themselves from this list in 2025 by winning their conference tournaments and punching their first-ever NCAA Tournament tickets.ย
