  • No. 1 Auburn will host No. 6 Tennesse at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
  • The Tigers have won 10 straight entering Saturday.

The top-ranked Auburn Tigers (17-1, 5-0 SEC) will put their 10-game win streak to the test when they host the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers (17-2, 4-2) at 8:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Auburn has been humming since its 84-78 road loss to Duke on Dec. 4, posting the fifth-longest active win streak in the country. Tennessee bounced back from last weekโ€™s road loss to Vanderbilt with a 68-56 win over Mississippi State on Tuesday.

Here is a look at the latest Tennessee vs. Auburn college basketball odds and my prediction for Saturdayโ€™s showdown.

Tennessee vs. Auburn College Basketball Odds, Jan. 25

  • Projected point spread: Auburn -8
  • Projected total: 144

While odds for this matchup arenโ€™t yet available at the BetMGM online sportsbook, KenPom projects a 76-68 victory for the Tigers. That would make Auburn an eight-point home favorite with an over/under of 144.

Iโ€™ll update these odds when they become available, but letโ€™s use this projection as a guideline for what to expect when the market is released.

Tennessee vs. Auburn Prediction – Saturday, Jan. 25

Based on KenPomโ€™s projection, my Tennessee vs. Auburn college basketball prediction would be to take the points with the Volunteers in a game that should be more of a battle than this line would suggest.

I doubt the spread opens this high, but Iโ€™m interested in taking the points with Tennessee at the correct number. The Vols rank third in adjusted defensive efficiency and 334th in tempo. They know how to bring opposing teams into a rock fight.

EvanMiyaโ€™s analytical website projects a much closer game script, favoring Auburn by 4.1 on Saturday. Star center Johni Broome is still working his way back after missing the last two games with an ankle injury.

The under is worth considering at the right price if Broome remains out, as the Tigers posted their lowest effective field goal rate (47.5%) of the season during last weekโ€™s win over Georgia.

Depending on Broome’s status, Tennessee could pull off an upset in this top-10 matchup. At the very least, Iโ€™m interested in taking the Vols to cover the spread in this much-anticipated battle.

Prediction: Tennessee +8
