Devin Bush Salary
The Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker is still on his first contract after being drafted in 2019. Out of Michigan, Bush signed a four-year, $18,871,765 deal with the Steelers, including an $11,744,920 signing bonus, with $18,871,765 guaranteed and an average annual salary of $4,717,941.
His deal is fully guaranteed, and there’s a fifth-year option attached to it worth up to $10.9 million, which can be exercised this offseason.
Devin Bush Cap Hit
The 24-year-old carried a $6,004,653 cap hit in 2022. Whether the Steelers pick up his fifth-year option will factor into his 2023 cap hit, which would come in slightly under $10.9 million.
Devin Bush Potential Extension
It’s hard to see a world where the Steelers exercise the fifth-year option on Bush, considering that he’s underachieved his overall draft selection. The team traded up to get him, and he’s largely been a disappointment, even if he improved in 2022. Bush will head to free agency if the Steelers decline the fifth-year option.
If Bush heads to the market, it’s hard to see him making more than $3 million per year on a short-term contract. Some comparable deals include T.J. Edwards, Alex Anzalone, Denzel Perryman, and Curtis Bolton.
