The Baltimore Ravens have appeared in the Super Bowl twice since moving to Baltimore at the start of the 1996 season: 2000 (XXXV) and 2012 (XLVII).
Have the Ravens Ever Won the Super Bowl?
The Ravens are undefeated in their Super Bowl appearances, one of two NFL teams with multiple Super Bowl titles to go undefeated in their appearances, along with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Super Bowl XXXV vs. Giants
The Ravens put on a show in their first Super Bowl victory over the New York Giants in a 34-7 victory. All of the Giants’ possessions ended with a punt or turnover, with the Giants’ lone touchdown coming as a result of a kickoff return.
Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis was named the Super Bowl MVP as the anchor of a historic defensive showing.
Super Bowl XLVII vs. 49ers
Baltimore defeated the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 en route to their second Super Bowl victory while giving San Francisco their first Super Bowl loss. This was the first time in Super Bowl history that two brothers coached against each other with Jim (49ers) and John (Ravens) Harbaugh.
Baltimore was up 28-6 in the third quarter when a power outage stopped play for over 30 minutes. Play resumed, and San Francisco rallied, but it ultimately was not enough. Joe Flacco was named Super Bowl MVP.
