Super Bowl XX vs. the Bears
The Patriots first appeared in the Super Bowl in 1986. They were dominated by the Chicago Bears, losing 46-10 at the Louisiana Superdome.
Super Bowl XXXI vs. the Packers
The Pats returned to the Louisiana Superdome in 1997, this time to take on the Packers. Green Bay quarterback Brett Favre threw for two touchdowns and ran for a third, leading his team to a 35-21 victory.
Super Bowl XXXVI vs. the Rams
The Patriots won their first Super Bowl in 2002. As the clock expired, Adam Vinatieri’s 48-yard field goal sealed the deal on the 20-17 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
Super Bowl XXXVIII vs. the Panthers
Two years later, Vinatieri did it again. He cashed a 41-yarder with four seconds remaining to lift the Patriots to victory over the Rams, 32-29.
Super Bowl XXXIX vs. the Eagles
In February 2005, the Patriots defeated the Eagles 24-21 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida. They joined the Cowboys as the only teams to win three Super Bowls in a span of four seasons.
Super Bowl XLII vs. the Giants
The Patriots completed a perfect 18-0 regular season, only to lose in the Super Bowl. They were upset by the Giants 17-14 at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Super Bowl XLVI vs. the Giants
The two teams met again in 2012. Eli Manning’s Giants scored a late touchdown to take down Tom Brady’s Patriots 21-17 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.
Super Bowl XLIX vs. the Seahawks
The Patriots earned their fourth Super Bowl title against the Seahawks. Brady threw four touchdown passes on the way to a 28-24 victory.
Super Bowl LI vs. the Falcons
This is the one that everyone remembers. The Patriots came back from a 28-3 deficit to take down the Falcons in overtime, 34-28. It was the biggest comeback in Super Bowl history and the franchise’s eighth championship.
Super Bowl LII vs. the Eagles
In 2018, the Pats lost to the Eagles 41-33 at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Brady went 28 of 48 for a Super Bowl record of 505 yards and three touchdowns.
It was the Patriots’ fifth Super Bowl loss, the most among all teams.
Super Bowl LIII vs. the Rams
New England competed in its 11th Super Bowl in 2019, for the most trips to the title game by any franchise in NFL history. It was Brady’s sixth and final Super Bowl victory as a Patriot, defeating the Los Angeles Rams 13-3.
