The Jets have only appeared in one Super Bowl.

Have the Jets Ever Won the Super Bowl?

The Jets were the first AFL team to win the Super Bowl when they upset the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, 16-7. The result was one of the reasons why the AFL and NFL merged.

It has been 54 years since the Jets hoisted the championship trophy, and while they have been close to returning to the Super Bowl, the Jets have fallen short.

Since their last appearance in the Super Bowl, the Jets have made four AFC Championship Games, losing all four (1982, 1998, 2010, 2011).

Super Bowl III vs. Colts

The Jets’ only Super Bowl appearance came in Super Bowl III against the Baltimore Colts. The game is widely remembered because Jets quarterback Joe Namath guaranteed a Jets victory, ignoring that the Jets were heavy underdogs.

New York won 16-7 at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida. The victory was a significant reason the AFL and NFL merged.
