After opening his professional career with New England in 2016, Jacboy Brissett is back with the Patriots this year as the starting quarterback of the Jerod Mayo era.
Perhaps Brissett was viewed as the most polished option on the roster. It’s also possible that Mayo didn’t want to undermine first-round draft pick Drake Maye by throwing him to the wolves with an untalented supporting cast.
Either way, the market isn’t too high on the Patriots’ odds this year.

Jacoby Brissett signed a one-year contract worth a total of $8 million. He’s set to be a free agent again after this season.
Brissett’s contract includes a number of bonuses and incentives. He receives a bonus of nearly $59,000 for each game he is an active member of the roster.
Additionally, Brissett can receive an extra $500,000 if the Patriots make the playoffs.

Jacoby Brissett received a $5 million signing bonus for his 2024 contract with the Patriots, meaning a majority of his contract was paid out up front.

Jacob Brissett will receive $1.5 million in base salary for the 2024 season. The remainder of Brissett’s money not tied to his signing bonus is structured as bonuses for specific activities and achievements.
