Joe Flacco turns 41 in January, but that hasnโ€™t stopped him from continuing to collect NFL game checks. The Super Bowl champion began the 2025 season as Clevelandโ€™s best hope under center.ย

With the Browns turning the page to Dillon Gabriel in Week 5, it was time to move on from Flacco.ย

Across the state, the Bengals have become desperate for a quarterback to keep them afloat until Joe Burrow can return from injury late this season.

The two AFC North rivals made for natural trading partners. Flacco was sent packing to Cincinnati after Gabrielโ€™s first start.

Joe Flacco Contract

Back in April, Joe Flacco signed a one-year deal with the Browns worth $4.25 million.

Flaccoโ€™s current contract includes several performance incentives, which accrue mainly based on playing time and winning games.ย

Joe Flacco Signing Bonus

Joe Flacco received a signing bonus of $1,745,000 after signing his latest contract.ย

Joe Flacco Salary

Joe Flaccoโ€™s $4.25 million contract is broken down into several pay structures. His base salary is the NFL veteran minimum $1.255 million, and he can earn $58,823 for every game in which he appears on the active roster.ย

The remaining money is a roster bonus ($250,000) and his signing bonus, which he already received.

Joe Flacco Dead Cap

Cleveland will take a $2.4 million dead cap hit for the front end of Joe Flaccoโ€™s salary. The Bengals are on the hook to pay the balance, which is around $1.85 million.ย

Joe Flacco Trade

The Browns traded Joe Flacco and a sixth-round draft pick from 2026 for Cincinnatiโ€™s fifth-year round 2026 pick.
