Justin Jefferson Contract: Salary, Guaranteed Money

Justin Jefferson only played 10 games in 2023 because of a hamstring injury, but he still graded out as one of the five best wide receivers in the NFL.

Jefferson’s elite talent and skills have been a known commodity for a while, so no one was surprised when the Minnesota front office offered the All-Pro a huge contract extension worth more than $100 million.

On June 3, Justin Jefferson signed a four-year contract extension worth $140 million. 

The deal includes annual $250,000 workout bonuses and runs through 2028.

Justin Jefferson received a total signing bonus of $36.94 million when he signed his extension. Some of that money was originally marked as 2024 salary. 

Justin Jefferson 5th Year Option

Minnesota exercised its team option for the fifth year of Justin Jefferson’s rookie contract in April 2023. That means his rookie contract will officially end after the 2024 season, and his new contract extension will kick in for 2025.

Justin Jefferson’s base salary for the 2024 season is $1.125 million. 

Jefferson was originally scheduled to make about $19.7 million in 2024, but his new extension rolls most of that money into signing bonus cash so that he receives it right away.

When Jefferson’s extension kicks in next season, he’ll make $31.93 million. 

Over the life of his extension, Jefferson’s average annual salary is $35 million. It’s the highest average annual pay for a non-quarterback in NFL history.

Justin Jefferson’s contract extension contains $110 million in guaranteed money, including $88.74 million at signing.
