The 24-year-old carried a $4,399,191 cap hit in 2022.
Mecole Hardman Potential Extension
Hardman was not healthy in 2022, which significantly affected his statistics. The former Georgia wideout played in just eight games and started five, compiling 297 yards and four touchdowns. He’s shown flashes during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, but consistency has certainly been an issue. Despite some question marks surrounding the player, he’s expected to get a pay rise on a short-term deal in free agency.
There are multiple wide receivers that you can use as comparables for Hardman on his next deal. Nelson Agholor, Curtis Samuel, Russell Gage, and DJ Chark are some players that share similar numbers to Hardman when they signed their new deals. As a result, Hardman should find himself with a short-term two-year deal in free agency, and he can expect somewhere in the neighborhood of $10 million annually.
